Amie O'Donoghue, artist
I am a Raleigh-based artist creating on canvas peaceful natural scenes and subjects as they are remembered — filtered through feeling, light, and personal experience. I draw my inspiration from moments in nature that stop me in my tracks— the vivid glow of a North Carolina sunset, the magic of a bluebird sighting, and the many delectable shades of green within the foliage. Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, I use color and texture to evoke atmosphere and depth.
I studied art in college and then left it on the back burner as I pursued a satisfying career in psychology and a beautiful family. A move to Raleigh marked a turning point, creating space to return to painting with renewed curiosity and the beauty of the North Carolina Piedmont.
I am delighted to share my paintings intended to bring moments of reflection and peace into everyday spaces — small reminders to pause, notice, and feel a connection.
